It’s been quite a while since I’ve written here at Leap and Twirl. This is why.:
Depressing job search
Some of you may remember and you know that I wrote through the changes and the pain.
Then I had to get my life back together… and that meant getting a job. Getting a big girl job in the full-time real world, although satisfying and necessary, forced me to put my writing on the back burner. Bye bye to the blog.
Eventually, I was lucky enough to find a job in real estate that is very fulfilling to me and offers me stability, structure, and a whole lot of fun each day. This makes me feel fortunate. How lucky that I get to wake up each morning and look forward to the day ahead while earning a living.
However fortunate I am with my career, I have always maintained a longing for creative expression. Someday… I kept saying. I need creativity back in my life. I will start writing again… I didn’t know exactly how it would look in my life. How I would make the time.
I have realized that I missed blogging as it is a hobby that encompasses everything my creative soul wants. Words. Photography. Beauty. Art. My passions! I also never forgot how many emails I received and how many people told me that I made a difference in their lives.. that I inspired them. This feels like my mission in life.
Sooooo…. drumroll…… Now is the time. I’m making the time NOW.
Let’s recap what this is all about for those of you that are new, and those of you who are joining me again. I mean…. it’s been a while. If anything, this blog is for ME, but in my biggest dreams, this blog could also be for YOU.
Leap and Twirl began as a conscious choice I made at a painful time in my life to listen to my soul, take leaps in life (both literally and figuratively), and twirl often.
My goal with my blog was to inspire women to listen to their souls and find their true self.
Leap and Twirl Circle is based upon these principles:
Ok so let’s break it down.
What is TRUTHTELLING?
It’s being honest with yourself first and not trying to hide behind the shoulds in life. It’s exposing your authentic self. It’s admitting that you can’t stand your kids some days. It’s admitting when your marriage is or isn’t fulfilling. It’s opening up to your truth, which has nothing to do with what looks good to the outside world. It’s admitting that you are talented and owning it. That you are a sexual goddess. Owning your story. It’s knowing what you like and what you don’t. It’s courageous and inspiring and sometimes scary.
“By having the courage to be herself, she put something wonderful that was not there before.”
What is FREEDOMSEEKING?
It’s releasing yourself from the expectations and constraints of society. It’s the work involved with finding what freedom means to you. Is it a big fancy house and a killer job? Is it a simple life in a small home dancing and cooking? It’s the process of realizing your own truth and then having the courage to live it. It’s getting in touch with what is important to you and being able to live it fully without the burden of judgement. It’s about not judging others, which in turn, makes it easier to not judge yourself. It’s being a seeker and learning how to listen to your soul.
“I have been a seeker and I still am, but I stopped asking the books and the stars. I started listening to the teaching of my Soul.” – Rumi
What is DREAMPUSHING :
It’s holding a vision of your ideal life. It’s pursuing your passions. It’s inspiring others to live their dreams too.
“You’ve got to be brave enough with your life so others can be brave with theirs.” ~Katherine Center
So that’s that. Now you get it. Living our truth, pushing towards our dreams, all while giving ourselves the permission to be free takes courage, guts, the right friends, a supportive tribe, love and magic. That is something to leap and twirl about!
