Each year I buy myself a special something to represent the new year. Because I am fueled by meaning in life. Because I treasure myself. Because I prioritize self care. Because I believe in positive rituals.
I choose a symbolic treasure to serve as a tool to inspire the very best of me and bring alive the essence of who I wish to be. It will also function as a touchstone for my intention. Last year it was a colorful camera strap because I was devoted to creative expression. This year I bought myself a beautiful Shakti Mala necklace.
The Feminine Force Shakti is the embodiment of divine feminine power. Not only is Shakti responsible for creation, she is also the agent of all change. Shakti is cosmic existence as well as liberation. Shakti exists in a state of dependence on no one, being interdependent with the entire universe.
Very fitting for me I would say! Liberation happens to be my true work and we are in deep dedication to living within the spirit of empowerment at the SheHive.
I am rooted, but I flow.
The Shakti Mala necklace also happens to be a perfect expression of my intention for 2017, which is to be grounded. Through all the surprises, emotions, fears, and feelings that life brings, I want to be able to go within and feel solid in my core. I aim to gather strength from the deepest part of myself. To tune in to my intuition, wisdom, and guidance. It is the essence of my spirituality and the connectedness of all things. My intention is summed up in a quote I’ve chosen by Virginia Wolf; “I am rooted, but I flow.”
If not me, who?
Yes, my friends, I think about this stuff. I choose to honor myself because if I don’t then who will? I choose to be thoughtful and deliberate in my life because I have no interest in shapeshifting my way through the day in an unconscious stupor orchestrated by others’ expectations of me.
I invite you to prioritize self care and to join us at the SheHive, which is our embodiment of divine feminine power. A place where we share wisdom, tips, tools, apps, love, rituals, all in the name of living an intentional life. We even have a beautiful collaborative creative project called the Wall of Intention where you can make your mark at the SheHive while we raise you up in a community of support.
“Walk with the dreamers, the believers, the courageous, the cheerful, the planners, the doers, the successful people with their head in the clouds and their feet on the ground. Let their spirit ignite a fire within you, to leave this world better than when you found it. ” ~ Wilfred Peterson
May the divine feminine force be with you and me and us and we!
